Where can I find information regarding Admission Procedures?

Check out our admissions page. If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact us.

Which classes do you give admission for?

Any grade with a seat. Our aim is to limit the number of children in each class to 26. After grade 10 and grade 12 due to the CIE exams that we conduct for those grades.

Why do you restrict the number of children in each class?

To ensure each child gets the maximum possible attention. At Riverside, we practice 'Differentiated Instruction', which means your child's unique needs are taken care of in a way that suits him or her, and this is only possible if the Teacher-Student ratio is optimum.

What is your policy on withdrawal?

Parents must inform the school one month in advance if they wish to withdraw their child from the school.

Parental Info

In what ways can a parent interact with the school?

Riverside encourages parents to take a proactive interest in their child's education. Every year the school conducts an orientation program for new parents so that the parents may understand the complimentary activities and programs that they can use at home to augment their child's education, and also to introduce the various programs that the school offers with which a parent can actively take part in their child's life at school. In addition, the school also encourages parents to take classes or conduct workshops, assist teachers, offer student internship placements, planning field trips, and anything else that a parent might wish to do to further their child's growth. Teachers are available for consultation or discussion with a day's prior notice.

What are Bridge Activities?

Home-based sharing and follow-ups are structured in the form of "Bridge Activities" that are to be done by the child with her/his parents. These are specially designed to help the child maintain the connection between home and school.

What is Teaching as Learning?

When you teach you learn twice. Based on this principle, the students share/teach a concept, skill or an idea that they have learnt in the class to their parents. They do it with a sense of pride and confidence. The parents have to devote time for the child and give a detailed feedback whenever the child gets a ‘teaching as learning’.

How often can I see my child's teacher?

Anytime! The more you take an active interest in school, the happier your child are we are! In fact, we encourage you to volunteer to take classes, organize activities, trips, special sessions and collaborate with us in bringing up your child in the best possible way.

What do the fees cover?

The school fees include all school books, stationery (pencils, erasers, and papers), art material and visits in the city. Fees once paid will not be refunded. Excursions are not covered in the fees for Key Stage 3.

Do you offer financial assistance?

The Riverside School offers the Bir Fellowship to offset part of the fees in special cases. Parents wishing financial assistance must fill up the form and comply with all the factors for assistance. Parents wishing to sponsor children either in full or part, are requested to get in touch with the Administrator

What curriculum does Riverside follow?

Riverside offers the CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) board which constitutes the IGCSE examinations for Grade 10 and the A and AS levels for Grade 11 & 12 for Key Stage 3. For details check out their website and their parents portal. For Key Stage 1 & 2 we have a developed a world-class, internationally recognized curriculum called the Riverside Well-Being Curriculum. It is a no compromise program targeted at children in their early to middle years that ensures optimum well-being at all five levels: social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive.

Will my child get admission to premier Indian colleges after a Riverside education?

Yes, CIE results are accepted like any other Indian board. CIE results can be submitted to Indian Colleges exactly the way it is, without the need for conversation of grades or percentage. In fact, 71% of our alumni are currently studying or have graduated from Indian Universities! Since CIE is an international board, there are no problems applying to universities aboard either.

Why CIE?

The Cambridge International Examination (CIE) is an internationally accredited board conducted by and administered by The University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. The IGCSE Qualification is the most popular international assessment awarded to students at the end of the 10th grade. In fact, every year nearly 10,00,000 students from 10,000 schools across 160 countries prepare for the CIE exams, making it one of the most universal international examinations in the world! The CIE provides over 70 subjects till grade 10th and over 55 subjects for the A & AS level exams. The ubiquity, diverse range of subjects and its structured and rigorous framework are some of the reasons that Riverside has chosen to opt for the CIE instead of other international boards.
