2) Number Operation: Understand the relationship between addition and subtraction. Application of borrowing and carry over’s. (0-999)
- Mathematical representation of the problems and solving it
- Decoding the word problems and solving it
- Creating word problems for a given operation (written)
- Algebra: relationship between operations
- Math writing- each child must be given the opportunity to understand and solve a problem and realize when and where will they have a similar situation in their real life.
3) Geometry: Recognition of the shapes
- Properties of shapes- straight lines and curved lines
- Identifying 2D shapes – square, triangle, circle, rectangle

2) Number Operations - addition, subtraction and introduction of multiplication as repeated addition
3) Estimation & Measurement:
- Using their own standards to measure, students must decide to describe the quantities using their own units or instance- the room is 4 benches long; bench is the unit.
- Quantify space: heavy and light for weight, long and short for lengths and more and less for capacities.
- Introduce the standard tools for measurement
- Establishing the need for uniformity for measurement
- Awareness of the Standard Indian units: weight- kgs/gms, length- meters/kms, Capacity- liters/mls
4) Data Interpretation and representing:
5) Money - Application of the operations
Building General Awareness: will be done through generating and nurturing curiosity (provocation) and the following units of inquiry:
- Stories
- Adaptation
- Problem Solving – in real life context
The understanding goals and details will be sent through the emails of regular postings/MLV. Students will continue with the Interest Centers, Sports, Thinking Routines, Art and Craft etc as part of their program.
